Nació en Doña Mencia (Córdoba) pero reside en Priego de Córdoba desde 1972, donde se formó artísticamente bajo la dirección del prestigioso pintor Antonio Povedano, recientemente fallecido. Colaboró con este artista en la creación de la Escuela Libre de Artes Plásticas de Priego de Córdoba.
Desde entonces, su obra plástica ha estado inspirada casi exclusivamente en el paisaje, pero siempre pasada por el tamiz de la interpretación personal, y aunque nunca se desprende del anclaje figurativo del que partió --y al que ahora vuelve con esta colección de Bodegones y Paisajes-- en su etapa anterior llegó a rozar la abstracción.
Ha participado en numerosas exposiciones colectivas v varias individuales.
Tiene en su haber un buen número de premios y menciones honoríficas. Ha ilustrado varios libros y revistas
